Frederick Mulder Foundation donated 23 ceramics works by Picasso to The Remai Modern in Saskatchewan in September 2014. The Remai Modern is a new gallery on Saskatoonʼs River Landing in Canada, scheduled to open in 2017. Frederick Mulder grew up in Eston, Saskatchewan, and these important Picasso works will serve as a wonderful bridge between the gallery’s highly important Picasso linocut collection, which Frederick Mulder Limited sold to the Remai in 2013, and the tradition of Saskatchewan art ceramics. Fred reflected “I loved growing up in Saskatchewan, and I count myself lucky to be able to give something back to the city and the province that gave so much to me”. The ceramics will be exhibited in a gallery dedicated to Picasso and works of international modernity at The Remai Modern.
